2021年よりスタートした両者のパートナーシップの一環としてリリースされる記念すべき第1弾コレクションでは、『モナ・リザ』をはじめとする歴史的名作を、UTならではのユニークな解釈で表現。
メンズのグラフィックは、Peter Saville（ピーター・サヴィル）が、”Art and Logic”というテーマのもと担当。ルーヴル美術館の所蔵品すべてにつけられる目録番号や芸術作品の構図に用いられる黄金比など、アートに潜むロジックに着目し、デザインの要素として取り入れたTシャツ6柄、スウェットフーディ4柄が展開される。
一方、ウィメンズでは、女性をモチーフとした作品群にフォーカス。ミステリアスな微笑みを浮かべる『モナ・リザ』、献身的な聖母を描いた『聖母子と幼き洗礼者聖ヨハネ』、 官能的な『オダリスク』など、巨匠たちが残した様々な女性の姿に花のモチーフを掛け合わせ、鮮やかなグラフィックTシャツへと仕上げている。また、スウェットはシンプルなラインアートを用いて、女性が主役の歴史的名作をモダンにアレンジ。
いずれも販売は、UNIQLOの一部店舗およびオンラインストアにて実施予定だ。
